Part of this is intrinsically tied to a proposed moral dilemma. Clair Obscur deviates from classical JRPG narrative tropes. It is certainly a character-based narrative however it doesn't act as a journey of a hero fated (not destined, we'll get there) to defeat an external force whose most often deemed as evil.
